Gullible media & some very unobvious photoshopping

The Israeli attack on Lebanon and Beirut has caused quite a few reactions, and in my opinion, for good reasons.

However misrepresenting facts is never a good thing, and this is why journalists are supposed to research the cases they cover before they go public.

Reuters, one of the world's biggest news-agencies, managed to publish this photo in their coverage of the Beirut bombing:

Not at all a photoshop

Whoever fails to see that this is a heavily photoshoped photo at first glance, should have their journalistic license withdrawn immediately.

Heck, even I can do better than that.

Warning: There is pornography on the internet!

This is intended as a warning to those who so far has lived blissfully unaware of the horrible, horrible fact that there is indeed pornography to be found on the internet.

Why? Evidently there's still people who seemingly didn't know this.

It's along article, but the meat is in the 4th last paragraph:

"I didn't even know sites like that were available on the Internet," he (lawyer of former deputy president of South Africa) was quoted as saying.

Maybe someone should tell him about goatse or tubgirl. Just for kicks, ofcourse.

Beware of the elders

Trying to rob a 60 year old man when you are armed with an iron bar, might seem like a cowardly, but simple thing to do. At least I would assume that is usually the case.

But for any rules there are exceptions... Like when your prey happen to be a former boxer.

These guys got their asses kicked. And boy was it well deserved too!

The one ring to rule them all

Most men probably think that rings, necklaces and stuff like that are for women only.

But for any rule there's usually a few exceptions, and I'm willing to grant one for this particular ring. As you can clearly see, this is truly a man's ring.

Me want!

Are you a Linux geek?

No way! Not sure? How would you know? Now you can know, once and for all!

Someone made a few Linux-posters inspired by the classical Despair demotivator calenders. You can find them here.

If you start chuckling or laughing at any of these posters, then too bad, you are officially a Linux geek, and will have to live with that for the rest of your days.

Not unlike me.

Total recoil!

I'm not really a pro-gun person. I don't obsess over weapons nor drool when I see the latest & state-of-the-art technology developed for killing.

Still... This video is pretty nifty.

It's a commercial, so it's probably not 100% trustworthy, but this guy evidently knows how to fire a shotgun.

Your browser sucks

If you are part of the statistical majority, you are using a so called webbrowser named Microsoft Internet Explorer, MSIE for short. Let me tell you straight away: It sucks. And if you are using it, by proxy you suck too.

Today I had the pleasure of inspecting that my site still looked good, even in MSIE, after I tweaked the CSS somewhat yesterday. MSIE may be crap, but it's evidently what people use. God knows why.

So, I loaded up my site in MSIE. And guess what? Anyone who has done any webdesign will already know what I found out: It looked like crap, buggy, all messed up and in short: not the way it was intended to look.

寿司ある!(Raw fish & vinegared rice ohoy!)

Last week a new sushi-shop opened up 100 meters down the road from where I live. So since I couldn't find anything interesting in the fridge today, I decided to check it out.

Here's a look at their (norwegian) menu. Crappy site really, but at least it has a menu and some pictures.

I went for "Sushi Medium 10 biter", which as you may guess means "a medium sushi menu w/10 pieces". For €10 that's not too bad, and I wasn't really expecting much either.

The sushi was actually pretty nice, but the maki could have been better.

Telemarketers suck

I'll keep this one short for once.

If you, like me, are fed up with telemarketers, here is a rather nice and comprehensive script you can use to throw the telemarketers entirely off balance.

Right here.

3 reasons I play games on the PS2 and the PS2 only

If you can't be bothered to read all this, be sure to check the video at the end. Believe me: It's awesome, albeit somewhat frightening. This entire article was in fact an excuse for putting that link on my site, so do check it out, ok?

First things first: Simplicity.

I turn on my PS2, I put whatever game I want to play in the drive and it just works.

PC games, however, they require installing, maybe beating some crap DRM that figures that software you are using legitemately are "cracking tools", updating DirectX, updating drivers. All this only to find out that your hardware ain't good enough to run the game smoothly. Rinse, repeat. Maybe you'll even get to play that game sometime next week! Yup. This sure sounds like fun.
